Clocks and Interior designing..

Decorating with clocks has made a major comeback in the design world. Using clocks in your home for décor purposes is an art; it needs a sense of style. There are a variety of wall clocks available in the market today. Not only are modern designer clocks in style but the vintage look and old time clocks are equally in demand. The ticking of a clock is far more engaging than any other piece of décor. They are the easiest way to add panache to your décor. Today clocks are used not only to tell you the time but as decorative wall accessories.

The most important thing to remember when decorating with wall clocks is to choose something that you feel represents you and in some way and enhances the décor of your room. Interior design is not limited by the use of only one style these days; it allows and even welcomes the use of various styles and their combinations.
The most widespread type of clock used in homes is a wall clock. A nice wall clock will suit any interior, as the variety of models of wall clocks is truly amazing. Wall clocks can be made of wood, glass, metal or plastic; they may have different shapes and colors. A wall clock can be used in any room of your house. One beautiful way to decorate with wall clocks is to hang several similar ones in a row, as if hanging pictures on a wall. You can then set the clocks to display the real time of various popular cities across the world. Placing dark coloured clocks on light walls and vice versa looks very attractive. One of the most popular wall clocks are the cuckoo clocks. They are timeless and will never go out of style. If you wish to up the style quotient of your room, add an antique pendulum operated clock.

There was a time when the giant clock was a symbol of opulence, style and sophistication. Modern electronics seems to have put an end to most of that. We clamour today for sleek, small and incredibly ergonomic accessories. Well, the trend is back with a modern twist.  Huge oversized wall clocks are being used in modern contemporary homes and they add so much meaning and character to a room. Designers today are creating beautiful timepieces that double up as art pieces.
A classical wooden long case clock or a grandfather clock is an excellent choice for a classical interior in a large apartment or a spacious house. You should pay special attention to the fact that this clock requires quite a lot of free space: in a small room such a clock will look bulky. A grandfather clock will be ideal in the interior of a spacious living room, fireplace lounge, library, study or the dining room. You can easily accent your home with a classic grandfather clock. It sets a style, mood and a certain touch of elegance. They also look great in the foyer and homes with high ceilings.

Table clocks are also actively used in interior design along with floor clocks and wall clocks. A table clock is quite space-saving, and it does not attract as much attention as the others. A table clock will look in its place if you put it on the mantelpiece in the living room or on the table in the study or in the library.

It’s now time to look beyond your smart phones and gadgets and find a whole new world of timeless charm in a wall clock!!
