How to display family photographs

In a world where everything is digital, its often easier to view all your family pictures on a computer screen rather than physically displaying them on the walls of your home. Many people dislike displaying their family pictures and then there are some who go overboard. Well, the good news is that there is a middle ground that exists! Choose only the best and create a wall gallery, the size of which can be according to the size of the room.
Photos are taken at different times in people’s lives with different cameras that reflect various levels of technology. In other words, the pictures don’t all match! Some photos may be in colour while others are in black and white. Then there’s the task of framing the pictures in a way that flatters them. How do you display family photos with style?
If you follow the following tips, you can end up creating a beautiful display that is not overbearing for your guests.
·       Turn all your photos into black and white – If you turn all your pictures into black and white prints, it not only makes them look classic and timeless but adds a sense of consistency.

·       Matching Frames – Another way to make the pictures look consistent is to frame them all in matching frames. The uniform outlines of the frames will help you tie the entire look together. If your wall colour is a bit dark, try framing your pictures in white frames. Te effect is simply elegant!

·       Frames of same colour but different designs – If you are framing pictures of various sizes, it’s a bit of a problem to find matching frames. In such a case keep the colour same and choose different designs. If the colour is the same, the difference id design, shape or size does not matter.
·       Antique Frames – If you have a traditional décor you can also opt for antique frames. Antique window frames or mirror frames can also be used to frame your prized possessions.

·       Coloured Frames – Frames don’t always have to be black, white or metallic. You can colour all your frames in any colour you like keeping in mind the décor of the room. Even if you are using all black or all white frames, you can add a pop of colour by strategically placing a coloured frame or two in between. This creates a bold and modern look.

·       Add a wall letter – There is a current trend of using a wall letter in the picture display. Usually the first letter of the family name is used to anchor th entire arrangement. This is a playful way to break the monotony of your arrangement.
